Night Light Button

light behind the right 1/4 of heater/defog display area not working. Is there a bulb? Where?

I have a 2005 Buick Lasabre. In the area to the right and down from the instrument panel is the section with the heater settings and such. They are usually illuminated at night with green and then there is a yellow line that comes on when you press the button to turn that particular function on. The last 4 buttons, 2 on top and 2 below form a square. They no longer light up, however the yellow line does still come on when in use. Is there a bulb behind there somewhere? How can I access it? The manuel that came with the car does not address this and it seems silly to go to the mechanic for such a little thing. Any suggestions would be most helpful.

YES it can be replaced. If you are VERY CAREFUL, you can do this yourself. It has been awhile since I have worked on one of these cars. The cover for that section is held in place by either screws or retainers, which just pop out. Look over the whole area for screws first. If you don;t see any, try prying the plastic cover off with a screw driver. Once the panel is removed, it is just a matter of looking for the bulb. It will be a very small bulb, so look good.
